What do we see in this work of art?
This printed wall art on a framed poster "Ko-91" features an abstract image of a cat looking at us with wide-open eyes. It is an interesting style with which the artist Sergej Uchatsch depicts the four-legged friend. At first glance we expect an artistic representation of a cat, but very quickly we notice that many things are missing, appear blurry or don't seem to fit. The left half of the cat appears unclear. Only the eyes and the beard hair stand out sharply. The right half of the mural, however, appears overly sharp and we can see much more detail of the animal. However, this part also seems somehow wrong. The characteristics of the face do not fit into our understanding of a cat. The artwork merges the world of the “overly clear” with the indistinct, creating a unique hybrid.
Where can this mural hang?
A framed poster of the artwork “Ko-91” is a unique and interesting representation of our favorite house cats. The eyes stare straight into our souls, while the outlines don't seem to fit the animal. This artwork makes a great gift for lovers of abstract art that fuses many elements and creates something completely new.
